Redwood Audio Model AC1 - Demonstration Guitar

 

 

 

Redwood Unplugged:

The Model AC1 is a demonstration piece done to explore the beauty and challenge of acoustic guitar design.  Based on the lovely "orchestra models", it has 14-frets free of the body which peaks at just over 4" deep for a balanced tone and lively response.  

 

The construction features an Asian ebony back, sides and accents with a flamed redwood top.  The neck is carved from mahogany with an Asian ebony fingerboard and is set with a traditional v-shaped dovetail joint.   Classic design elements include a diamond shaped volute, herringbone rosette, end-flash, a custom inlayed heel cap and body-matched headstock logo.   

 

To augment the lovely acoustic characteristics, the AG1 is equipped with the Fishman Rare Earth Blend soundhole pickup.  It features an electric humbucking pickup combined with a miniature microphone to create a natural live tone with plenty of character.  The pickup is specially voiced for use with the installed phosphor bronze strings.

All in all, this well rounded guitar design fits comfortably and plays lovely for the songs and styles it will sing in both acoustic and reinforced modes.
